How to Buy Populous (PPT)

Considering getting your hands on some Populous tokens? Great choice.

The convenience of P2P (peer-to-peer) technology has the potential of simplifying the way we do business. The creators behind Populous recognize that which is why they’re building a global P2P invoice discounting platform.

Using the security, transparency, scalability, and latency of blockchain technology, Populous is pairing invoice sellers and lenders together so they can do their business without the involvement of third parties.

Is this something business owners will want to invest in?

You bet. The smart contracts on the Populous platform utilize XBRL data, Altman Z-scores to make sure your business is creditworthy. XBRL data is used to access and assess financial statements for invoice sellers, and when combined with Altman Z-scores, is used to perform credit checks. The formula has three predictive measures:

  • Probability business goes into bankruptcy in the next two years
  • Whether or not business will default
  • A control measure for financial distress

Ready to do business with the other side of the world? Let’s figure out how to buy some Populous.

Create A Coinbase Account

First things first, you’re going to want to buy from Bitcoin or Ethereum from Coinbase. If you’re not able to access Coinbase, try carrying out the process over at Coinmama — it’s easy to navigate and the process is the same. If you already have some BTC or ETH in your wallet, migrate to step 2. You’re ahead of the game.

Create A Binance Account

Outside of Coinbase we’re going to have to use a cryptocurrency marketplace. Here we can use our main currencies (ETH and BTC) to capitalize on other coins. For now, we’ll be using Binance. But do note there are plenty of marketplaces to choose from. Go on and make an account, then continue to step 3.

Send BTC or ETH to Binance

As a novice crypto investor, this part can seem odd or confusing at first. We’re basically going to transfer BTC or ETH (our main currency) from our Coinbase wallet to our Binance wallet. Here are the essential steps:

  • Select “Wallets” on Binance
  • Look for “BTC” or “ETH”
  • Click on “Deposit”
  • Press and copy the address string
  • Go back to Coinbase
  • Select the “Accounts” label on Coinbase
  • Look for BTC or ETH wallet & select “Send”
  • Paste the Binance wallet address into the Coinbase recipient address bar
  • Put in the amount you’re looking to transfer then send it on!

Here are some screenshots describing the process using ETH for reference:

Assess & Save

You just bought some Populous, and now you get to decide what happens to them. Often, people sit on them and keep them in their wallets. But now that you know what you’re doing, feel free to head back to the marketplace.
