How to Buy Po.et (POE)

Po.et will have you ceaselessly writing sonnets with their block-based authentication and certification platform. Based on the Bitcoin blockchain, Po.et works by embedding digital assets into the blockchain, allowing publishers to access a network of content and trace it back to its origin.

How does Po.et ensure there will be no copyright infringement?

Po.et achieves this foolproof solution using one-way cryptographic functions, or “hashes.” Each digital asset on the blockchain is comprised of a unique identifier. All of the information and data stating where and when it was originally published can’t be reconstructed, meaning the information can’t be manipulated. This allows journalists, writers, and content creators to create an immutable portfolio of their work, and gives them access to a global network of publishers that can verify the:

  • Content origin
  • Data
  • Audit trail

Po.et has the potential to revolutionize copyright usage in a decentralized playing field, so let’s learn how to set you up with some tokens.

Open Up A Coinbase Account

Before you have some POE in your wallet, you will first need to purchase some Bitcoin or Ethereum from Coinbase. If you’re having issues using Coinbase, try going through Coinmama — the process is identical. If you already have some BTC or ETH in an account, skip ahead to step 2.

Create A Binance Account

Once we have secured our BTC or ETH, we will go to what is called a cryptocurrency marketplace where buyers like you use those main currencies to purchase all other coins. We’ll be using Binance today, but you should know there are a few marketplaces where POE can be purchased. Create an account with Binance, then proceed to step 3.

Send BTC or ETH to Binance

The next following steps will help us move our BTC or ETH from our Coinbase wallet to our Binance wallet. It looks tricky, but we assure you it’s not: Here’s the tutorial:

  • Select “Wallets” on Binance
  • Locate your “BTC” or “ETH”
  • Press “Deposit”
  • Click and copy the address string
  • Return to Coinbase once more
  • Press on the “Accounts” tab on Coinbase
  • Locate your BTC or ETH wallet & select “Send”
  • Input the Binance wallet address into the Coinbase recipient address bar
  • Enter the amount you want to migrate and tap send!

Great job! If you’re still confused, below are some screenshots describing the process using ETH for reference:

Purchase Po.et (POE) on Binance

Now that we’re done with that, let’s buy some POE!  Look for the “Markets” tab and search for the BTC/POE or ETH/POE market. Once you’ve located the correct market, select your price per coin, the amount you want to purchase, and then finally buy!

Is that it?

That’s it! If you’re still stuck, maybe the screenshot below will help. We used Ethereum but it’s no different if you’re using Bitcoin.

Calculate & Deposit

Great job, you successfully bought some POE! The next steps are all up to you. You can head back to the marketplace to look for other coins if you’re feeling comfortable with buying again. Or, you can sit on your investment and know they’ll be kept safely in your wallet.
