How to Buy NANO (XRB)

So you’re thinking about investing in NANO? Good choice. This is one of the latest decentralized mobile payment platforms to emerge, and like the other platforms, it provides a fast and secure means for peer-to-peer exchange.

What sets NANO apart from others?

Unlike other mobile payment platforms, NANO utilizes a block-lattice architecture. With this structure, each account has its own blockchain and achieves consensus via delegated Proof of Stake voting. In addition, NANO offers:

  • No fees
  • Scalability
  • Instantaneous transaction speeds

With no fees and high speeds, NANO offers an ideal alternative for peer-to-peer exchanges. Now, let’s help you get set up with some XRB.

Open Up A Coinbase Account

Let’s first get you set up with some Bitcoin or Ethereum. You will need to buy the coins from Coinbase, but if the website is being fickle, try going through Coinmama — the steps will be the same. Already have some BTC or ETH in your account? Awesome, skip this step.

Create A Kucoin.io Account

Once you’ve purchased your BTC or ETH, you’ll be able to buy other coins. We’ll do so in what is called a cryptocurrency marketplace. Today, we’ll be using one called Kucoin, but know that XRP is not exclusive to it. Create an account with Kucoin and head on to step 3.

Send BTC or ETH to Kucoin

The next couple of steps will help us transfer our BTC or ETH from our Coinbase wallet to our Kucoin wallet. Novice users tend to get confused here. Worry not, follow these steps below and it’ll be smooth sailing.

  • Tap “Wallets” on Kucoin.io
  • Look for either “BTC” or “ETH”
  • Tap “Deposit”
  • Click and then copy the address string
  • Find your way back to Coinbase
  • Press the “Accounts” label on Coinbase
  • Locate your BTC or ETH wallet & select “Send”
  • Place the Kucoin wallet address into the Coinbase recipient address bar
  • Put in the amount you want to send and transfer it!

If you’re feeling like you missed a step or need some guidance, here are some screenshots that help describe the process. We used ETH as an example:

Buy NANO (XRB) on Kucoin

Now you can buy XRB, so let’s get to it. Look for the “Markets” tab and find the BTC/XRB or ETH/XRB market. Once you’ve chosen your desired market, fix the individual price per coin, the volume you’re looking for, and then complete your purchase!

If you’re stuck, here’s a screenshot that outlines the components of the page:

Decide & Stash Away

You’re now an XRB owner. If you feel like making another purchase, you can go back to the marketplace to buy other coins, but no pressure. Rest assured that these coins will rest safely in your wallet.
