How to Buy Dash (DASH)

As the likelihood of digital currency nears, the team behind Dash wants to help you get ahead of the curve and set up as the owner of your own bank. The premise for this cryptocurrency is simple: It’s digital cash, or Dash — catchy, no?

Operating on an open source, peer-to-peer network, Dash ensures payments are instantaneous and secure, fees are low to non-existent, and the power is in your hands.

So, this is just another Bitcoin?

Unlike Bitcoin, Dash is the first cryptocurrency that operates in the same vein as handing over physical cash. It’s not held in a central bank, you and only you have access to your information, transactions are private, and your payment activity can’t be tracked by anyone else. Dash anticipates rolling out additional features that will allow users to:

  • Buy/sell goods and services
  • Contribute to projects and charities

Dash already has a host of merchants ready to accept private payments, so let’s get you set up with some coins.

Create A Coinbase Account

I know you’re eager to get your hands on some Dash, but first you will need to buy some Bitcoin or Ethereum. You can purchase either coin from Coinbase, or Coinmama if the former doesn’t work out. Both will have the same process. If you already have some BTC or ETH stored in your wallet, you can head over to step 2.

Open Up A Binance Account

After buying your BTC or ETH coins, you will need to head to a cryptocurrency marketplace to purchase other coins. There are a few markets wherein Dash is available, but we’ll be using Binance for today’s example. Sign up for an account and move on to step 3.

Send BTC or ETH to Binance

This part may seem difficult, but we promise it’s really simple. All we’re doing is sending our BTC or ETH from our Coinbase wallet to our Binance wallet. Here is the guide:

  • Hit “Wallets” on Binance
  • Find “BTC” or “ETH”
  • Press “Deposit”
  • Select then copy that address (the address string)
  • Open up Coinbase again
  • Tap the “Accounts” tab on Coinbase
  • Locate your BTC or ETH wallet & select “Send”
  • Paste the Binance wallet address into the Coinbase recipient address bar
  • Fill out the amount you want and then hit send!

That wasn’t so tough, was it? Just in case, here are some screenshots describing the process using ETH as an example:

Game time! Look for the “Markets” tab and then search for the BTC/DASH or ETH/DASH market. Once you’re here, you can name your price per coin, determine how much you want to purchase, and then buy!

Hopefully that went smoothly. Below is a screenshot that helps outline the components of the page:

Assess & Store Away

Congrats, you are now the proud owner of some Dash. Now you can figure out how to play it. Many decide to let their coins sit in their wallets, but you can always head back to the marketplace.

Am I done?

You are! If you have any questions about the process, please send them our way in the chat window to your right.
