How to Buy Change (CAG)

Traditional financial institutions have failed the youth, so they’re calling for Change — the latest mobile financial application that combines personal banking data and investment opportunities. In the same vein of other decentralized apps, the platform circumvents banks and other third party institutions to do your daily banking. What’s interesting, however, is that it it contains your global currency along with your cryptocurrencies.

What does that mean?

Say you live in the United States then open up your Change app, and you’ll see USD alongside Bitcoin or Ethereum. In addition, the Change team will be rolling out a card that will allow users to seamlessly convert their cryptocurrencies into fiat currencies. Other features of Change include:

  • Peer-to-peer loan opportunities
  • Automated wealth management
  • Accessible real estate investing
  • Buying insurance
  • Investing into startups

Unlike other decentralized mobile financial applications, Change is specifically labeling themselves the first “crypto bank” — an interesting move considering most blockchains take pride in cutting out middlemen like banks. Moreover, they’re working on becoming the first global bank by completely removing borders in the financial sector.

The team behind Change (made up of Microsoft and DHL veterans and blockchain experts) is ambitious. With their banking license anticipated for 2020 approval, they are one project to keep a close eye on. That being said, let’s get you some CAG coins.

Open Up A Coinbase Account

The first step is pretty simple: get yourself set up with some Bitcoin or Ethereum. You can purchase the coins from Coinbase. However, if the website is giving you trouble, try going through Coinmama. Either platform will have the same setup process. Already have some BTC or ETH on you? Prefect, move along to step 2!

Create A Kucoin.io Account

Once the purchase is made, you need to migrate to a cryptocurrency marketplace. Outside of the main coins, every other form of crpyto is sold there. Change, for instance, is available on multiple. However, today we’ll be using Kucoin. Set up an account with Kucoin and move on to step 3.

Send BTC or ETH to Kucoin

These steps might look odd or troubling, but they’re not as complicated as the wording makes it seem. We’re moving funds here. In short: we’re taking our digital currency and moving it from our Coinbase wallet to our Kucoin wallet. Follow the below:

  • Select “Wallets” on Kucoin.io
  • Identify“BTC” or “ETH”
  • Click on “Deposit”
  • Highlight the address, then copy it
  • Get back to Coinbase
  • Press the “Accounts” label on Coinbase
  • Find your BTC or ETH wallet & select “Send”
  • Move the Kucoin wallet address into the Coinbase recipient address bar
  • Slap in how much you want to transfer and then finalize!

Easy, right? Just in case you’re still feeling confused, here are some screenshots that help illustrate the process using ETH as an example:

Buy Change (CAG) on Kucoin

This is the last step. Move your mouse over the “Markets” tab and find the BTC/CAG or ETH/CAG market. Once there, you can fix a price per coin, the amount of coins you want to purchase, and then finally put some CAG away in your wallet.

Not making sense? See the screenshot below.

Calculate & Store Away

Change feels good, doesn’t it? The next steps are entirely up to you. Feel free to head back to the cryptocurrency marketplace if you’re feeling more confident about the process, or let the coins sit in your wallet. They’ll be safe there.
