How to Buy Bitcoin Cash (BCH)

Another fork in the road for Bitcoin: the latest development from the #1 cryptocurrency is a peer-to-peer digital cash exchange protocol; BCH. With upgraded consensuses rules, BCH is able to scale and grow at a faster rate than the parent Bitcoin blockchain.

Like the original, the platform is completely decentralized and does not operate through third parties. In addition, those who owned Bitcoin prior to the creation of BCH automatically became BCH owners.

What makes it different from Bitcoin?

While it’s a continuation of the original Bitcoin project, a few upgrades distinguishes it in:

  • Faster speeds
  • Lower transaction fees
  • On-chain scalability
  • New transaction signatures
  • Continued decentralized development

It’s a no brainer that BCH has the potential to follow the success of Bitcoin, so let’s show you how to make an investment.

Open Up A Coinbase Account

Before we begin, you will need to purchase Bitcoin or Ethereum. They are available on Coinbase, but if you’re having issues with that platform, try buying them through Coinmama — the processes do not differ. If you’re already a BTC or ETH owner, then you’re one step ahead. Continue to step 2.

Create A Binance Account

If you want to buy any other coin, you need to go through what is called a cryptocurrency marketplace. There, we use our main currencies (BTC or ETH) to purchase other cryptos. Today, we’ll be using Binance, but there’s plenty of other platforms that offer BCH. Create an account with Binance and push on to step 3.

Send BTC or ETH to Binance

During this process, we’ll be moving our BTC or ETH from our Coinbase wallet to our Binance wallet. To the novice user, this process might seem complicated, but we’re here to show you how simple it is:

  • Select “Wallets” on Binance
  • Find “BTC” or “ETH”
  • Click on “Deposit”
  • The address string, copy it
  • Reopen Coinbase
  • Press the “Accounts” label on Coinbase
  • Identify your BTC or ETH wallet & tap “Send”
  • Paste the Binance wallet address into the Coinbase recipient address bar
  • Fill in the desired amount and send it on!

If you’re still confused, here are some screenshots that help illustrate the process using ETH for reference:

Purchase Bitcoin Cash (BCH) on Binance

Hooray, now we can buy some BCH! Find the “Markets” tab and look for the BTC/BCH or ETH/BCH market. Once you have found the market you want, filter your price per coin, the amount you’re looking for, and then finally purchase!

Anything else?

Nothing! But if you’re still confused, we’ve added another screenshot below:

Calculate & Deposit

Now you have some BC in your wallet. Feels cool, right? You’re betting on the new wave of the future. Now that you have it safely secured in your wallet, you decide what’s next. You can let your cryptos sit your wallet, or you can head back to Binance and purchase other coins.

Is there another step left?

Nope, you’re good to go! We hope we answered all of your questions for you. If not, please don’t hesitate to send them our way in the chat window to your right!
